Roy Lee Scott is a native of southwest Oklahoma with strong musical influences from the adjoining state of Texas. Roy Lee is a 15,000+ flight hour commercial spray pilot, thus the name "The Flying Cowboy." Roy Lee has been performing for 25 years with "Triple Kick" a country, rock and blues cover band in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. "The Flying Cowboy," CD released in 2003, is singer / songwriter Roy Lee Scott's debut country music album. Some artists Roy Lee emulates are George Strait, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson. If you like, pure, heartfelt country music, you'll love this album. Roy Lee is a singer songwriter who truly believes in the power of a story with music. He will be the first to tell you that he does not enjoy music that is nothing but a repetitive beat with questionable lyrics (if you can even understand them)! Roy Lee has been playing in a cover band in Oklahoma for over twenty-five years focusing on good two'steppin' music. Along the way he has become a fairly skilled Bass player which has been a big asset because singing bass players are hard to come by in a lot of areas. It is very obvious that Roy Lee's passion is in Entertaining and he will make you feel that he is there to sing for you because he wouldn't want to be there otherwise! Balancing the Flying business with his passion for music has been very challenging over the years but he is blessed to have some very good friends who happen to be very good musicians that understand his love for music and support him on and off the Stage. Roy Lee has recorded two Albums The first released in 2003 was self titled - Roy Lee Scott " The Flying Cowboy" which has a very unique Video featuring him and his Airplane. In April of 2008 he will release his new CD titled Let's go Parkin'. Of the Twenty-Five songs he has recorded Roy Lee wrote Twenty-One of the Tracks. Both CD's were co-produced by Roy Lee and his good friend Mike McAdoo who is a wickedly talented guitarist from Branson. All of the players on both projects are top notch session players most of whom are personal friends of Roy Lee. I have a lot of influences and I've been told that it really shows in my writing! In fact a friend and great guitar player told me that I had a unique ability to write a country song and still have some of the seventies pop artist feel! At first I didn't recognize that as a compliment but now I'm happy with that tag. My obvious country influences are Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell ,Glen Cambell and mostly George Strait. I am a singer songwriter and I have always loved artists such as James Taylor, The Eagles, Jim Croce, Bread and Seals & Croft but anyone who knows me well will tell you I have been a huge Beatles fan since 1964 (I was pretty young)
